The Riverside &Great Northern Railway in Wisconsin Dells, WI is a 15" gauge railway dating back to the late 1940's. The main line is 1.5 miles long giving a 3 mile long train ride lasting about 30 - 40 min. This little railroad is a living museum. Many steam engines and diesel engines along with almost countless rolling stock was built right here for amusement parks and zoo's and is not for profit, maintained and operated by volunteers. Come join us for all the railroading fun and take a tour of the Engine Shop, Round House, Depot and much more. Learn about the Sandley Light Railway Equipment Works and the Sandley legacy. Have a picnic in our park while watching the trains. There are lots of trees for shade and plenty of picnic tables to go around. Or get something to eat in the Iron Horse Café.
