I'm sorry to inform you folks but as of now the Milwaukee Road 261 or also knowen as the "Energizer Bunny of Steam" will never run the high iron again. She has been loved by Rail-fans and non Rail-fans alike for 15 years now and will be going back to the National Railroad Museum in Green Bay, WI where she will reside as a public display never to run again. She will be missed by everyone that has Worked, ridden or seen her travel down the rails throughout the Lower 48. This is a very sad moment in Steam railroading as one of Americas Favorite Mainline Steam locomotives will be put to rest. Special thanks to Steve Sandberg and all who where involved in the past 15 years of her service. So enjoy my Last video of Milwaukee Road 261 under steam as I present to you Thanks for the Memories Best of 2008! This video includes all of the Major trips she ran in her last year of service and also includes seens of the last few moments of her under steam and the crew shutting her down for the last time ever. Thanks for The Memories 261!!
